So you have it as a daggerboard. Is that going to be issue-ridden when going through shallower places in rough weather? You'll need to figure out a way to raise it enough so that you can get through what you need to get through while not having to compromise the boom to get across the boat. You may want to think about rigging some sort of system where you can raise/lower it in a hurry. I'm thinking it might be really awkward to raise it in a hurry if something comes up (like a sandbar). Just something to think about. because with optis and lasers it's a clear shot to the daggerboard, but you'll be obstructed by gear and the footpaddles.
The purpose of this blog is to provide a sort of open-source insight into the preparation of a WaterTribe Everglades Challenge and a WaterTribe Ultimate Florida Challenge. I will grant that my sort of madness is probably nothing like the solution to the WaterTribe puzzle that you might be contemplating. I think the value to you might be in the thought process; the issues examined; and the solutions proffered.
